PDI Perjuangan SECRETARY General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party would not back down from the plan to roll out the DPR’s right to inquiry. According to him, the political steps taken by DPR members could be used as a way to uncover fraud in the 2024 election.

“Options for carrying out legal processes, including political processes in the DPR as well as in these regions, will be carried out by the PDI Perjuangan together with the party supporting Ganjar-Mahfud in order to protect the people’s voice,” said Hasto in Jakarta, Monday ( 1/4).

In fact, Hasto claimed that the option of proposing the right to inquiry would also be submitted by the PDIP faction in the provincial DPRD. Because, according to him, abuse of power or abuse of power could occur and be carried out by acting regional heads.

“So various forms of abuse of power can occur in stages and it is the right of all legislative members to be able to exercise this right,” said Hasto.

However, Hasto did not answer when the right to inquiry could be rolled out. A number of political party factions have also not shown their stance regarding the right to inquire into allegations of election fraud.

A different opinion was previously conveyed by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP who is also the Chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, on Thursday (28/3). According to him, there were no instructions to the PDIP faction in the DPR regarding submitting the right to inquiry.

Puan also said that there had been no official follow-up or movement regarding the discourse on rolling out the right to inquiry regarding alleged fraud in the 2024 elections in the DPR to date. (Mall/Z-7)
