Havn celebrates progress and a new record on the bottom line

While Frederikshavn Harbor is in serious financial trouble, the municipality’s second port to the north can celebrate a record.

The Port of Skagen, which is also a municipal self-governing port, has exceeded all expectations during 2023 and delivered growth that beats last year’s historic result.

With increased activity in all business areas, the port has achieved a turnover of DKK 81.8 million and a result of DKK 28.7 million, the Port of Skagen states in a press release.

According to the port, this is the result of targeted investments in infrastructure and facilities over several years, which have helped to future-proof the port.

Chairman of the board for Skagen Havn, Niels Arnold Lund, is very satisfied with the result and emphasizes the importance of the strategic investments and focus on business development.

– This one is not just a single achievement, but the result of a long-term vision and purposeful work, says Niels Arnold Lund.

The optimized facilities in the port are not only an advantage for the Port of Skagen, but also for the port’s customers, who benefit from the modern and sustainable solutions.

CEO, Willy Bent Hansen emphasizes the importance of the positive development across all business areas, which has helped shape Skagen Havn into the company it is today.

– With increased activity, the port’s operation has proven to be really efficient and flexible, which has had a significant impact on the bottom line, says Willy Bent Hansen, who points out the importance of continuously developing the organisation’s skills and resources to ensure that it can deliver the best solutions for the port’s customers.

With a promising starting point for 2024, the Port of Skagen expects to be able to continue its growth this year.
