The Spanish company Hawkers has long been committed to the motorcycling base and in this sense has taken a further step forward by presenting the Hawkers Finetworks ARO Team, which will be present at the FIM CEV within the Hawkers European Talent Cup (HETC) and also in the ESBK (Spanish Superbike Championship) within the Moto4 category.
Hawkers, an illicit company specialized in sunglasses and optics, has established itself as one of the benchmark brands in terms of supporting the motorcycle base and last January announced an agreement with Dorna to become the main sponsor of the European Talent Cup, which has passed, is renamed Hawkers European Talent Cup.
The start of the Hawkers European Talent Cup, which is within the framework of the FIM CEV, is scheduled for the weekend of April 25 and 26 at the Autodromo Internacional del Algarve, in Portimao (Portugal), although its start will depend on the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic. Hawkers, in addition to giving its name to this event as main sponsor, will have its own team within the category, the Hawkers Finetworks ARO Team, a structure that also becomes part of the “Road to MotoGP” program that Dorna has been promoting for several years and developing to promote the promotion of future talents towards the MotoGP World Championship.
This team, with structure in the ESBK Moto4 category (Spanish Cetelem Superbike Championship), will have a total of five riders between the two competitions. Hawkers project rider Romeo Sandoval and Álvaro Carpe, who raced in the Moto4 class last season, are promoted from the championship and will participate in the HETC. For their part, Valentín Perrone, Leandro Quintans and Iván Uceda will be the three drivers who will have the opportunity to drive ESBK’s MIR Racing.
“I am very happy to continue working with Hawkers, who have always opted for base motorcycling. I try to make the children learn to work as professionally as possible and want to improve and train day after day. I am looking forward to starting the new season, since the project is very ambitious and I am sure that we will see the results reflected on the track soon, ”says former world champion Juanfran Guevara, as team sports director. .
