HBO Max announced the thrilling debut of the first Roberto Gómez Bolaños biographical series, titled “The Spirit”. The series will explore the life of one of the most beloved characters on Latin American television, thanks to the partnership established between Warner Bros. Discovery and the THR3 Media Group. This collaboration will also pave the way for other projects related to the vast universe of characters created by the talented artist.
The new Max Original production will provide us with an unprecedented view of the story of the man behind more than 100 emblematic characters of family humor, such as “Chaves” and “O Chapolin Colorado”. In partnership with Roberto Gómez Fernández, son of Chespirito, the series will address the challenges faced by the creator of these countless personalities who transcended borders and left a lasting mark on the culture of Mexico and Latin America.

Roberto Gómez Bolaños was a renowned Mexican actor, comedian, playwright, writer, screenwriter, composer, director and television producer. He is the creator of iconic characters that continue to captivate the hearts of Latin Americans. Today, he is widely recognized as one of the icons of Spanish-language family humor and entertainment, and is considered one of the best comedians of all time.
