He argued with his partner and decapitated the python he had as a pet with his teeth

A 32-year-old individual, identified as Kevin Justin Mayorga, was arrested after Miami-Dade Police officers came to his apartment after receiving information about a couple’s fight. Upon arrival they discovered that he decapitated a royal python that he had as a pet.

According to the police report, the officers found Mayorga trying to hold his partner, for which, after receiving a warning, they tried to reduce him but he violently objected.

The woman told the police that Mayorga had bitten the head of her snake, a royal python, a species that can reach dimensions of between 90 centimeters and 1.5 meters in length.

At that moment, the agents saw the snake with its head detached next to the entrance door of the house.

Mayorga faces charges of animal cruelty with intent to kill, illegal imprisonment and resisting authority. He remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on $15,000 bond.

This species of python, of African origin and with an average weight close to 1.5 kilograms, is used as a pet by some people due to its relatively docile temperament.
