He beat a woman to rob her and took some of his own medicine

A judge imposed two months of preventive detention on a man who tried to punch a woman’s cell phone in Neuquén. The offender received his own medicine when the victim’s partner and other witnesses “held” him until the arrival of the Police.

The episode occurred on Monday at a quarter to ten at night on the corner of Avenida Olascoaga and Amaranto Suárez.

A police commission from the second police station attended there, since a telephone call had alerted of a “disorder”.

When the uniformed men arrived, they found a violent scene: Between three or four people, they kept a young man “retained”, who had been thrown to the ground and beaten.

Among the group of people was a woman who reported that minutes before that young man had approached her on public roads – almost in that same place – to steal her cell phone, but when he did not achieve his goal, he punched her a few times. This circumstance was seen by the victim’s partner who, together with other people, managed to stop him.

Finally the thief was arrested and transferred to the second police stationremaining at the disposal of Justice, as for the victim, she was assisted by health personnel.

This Tuesday the JJudge of Guarantees Carina Álvarez ordered preventive detention for a period of two months for the accused.
