The historic general secretary of the Union of Tourism, Hotel and Gastronomic Workers (UTHGRA), Luis Barrionuevosuffered a decompensation, for which he had to be urgently admitted to the Güemes Sanatorium from the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo.
The Noticias Argentinas agency reported that the 82-year-old union member entered the hospital ward with a decompensation condition, with loss of sense of time and space.
So far, the medical report has not been released that would give further details about the union leader’s health and details such as whether he was in a common room or an intensive care room.
Along these lines, in dialogue with NA, “Tito” Geneiro, leader of UTHGRA, said: “He had a rise in blood pressure, but he is cared for, he responds and he is fine. At least we have the peace of mind that he is assisted, every now and then his pressure rises«.

The union leader has been at the head of the union for 39 years and has always been an important figure in the internal life of the CGT. Currently, in the triumvirate of the labor union he is represented by Carlos Acuña, a leader close to his figure who leads the Service Stations and Garages union.
