New Delhi: Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has said that Rohit Sharma is the best player to lead the Indian Test cricket team. Virat Kohli stepped down as captain of the Indian Test team last week following leading the team for seven years. Rohit is currently the captain of the Indian limited overs team.

‘Rohit Sharma will be India’s best Test captain because his leadership was excellent. He also has five IPL trophies. No one can beat him in the race for Test captaincy, “Peterson told ANI.

Earlier, Virat Kohli had announced that he would step down as captain of the Twenty20 team following the World Cup in the UAE in November. Later, the BCCI selected Rohit as the Twenty20 captain.
