He killed a security guard for not agreeing with the rules of the restaurant

The suspect tried to flee and crashed his vehicle in nearby Glenn Heights but was captured, police Lt. Chris Huerta said Saturday.

A customer at a dining and entertainment establishment near Dallas shot and killed a security guard following arguing with him regarding the restaurant’s rules, police said.

Derek Phillips, 47, of Arlington, was shot dead around 10 pm Friday at the Brickhouse Lounge in DeSoto, police said.

The suspect tried to flee and crashed his vehicle in nearby Glenn Heights but was captured, police Lt. Chris Huerta said Saturday.

Witnesses told police the suspect was shot by a passerby as he tried to flee. Huerta did not respond to messages asking for more details on Saturday.

The suspect is Toussel Kuhn, 48, of Savannah. He is being held in Dallas without bond. Court documents do not name an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
