The U fell 4-3 against River in a friendly played in Salta which served to see players who are not normally being used by Mauricio Pellegrino. One of them was Renato Cordero. The midfielder who defended the Red Under 20 team last January was one of the most prominent in the Chilean team. His work was also recognized by Matias Zaldivia.
“More than for us, this friendly served more for them (the youth players) and for them to get minutes. Renato Cordero did an impressive job, for me he was one of our best. He played as if he had 50 games in the First Division, so he’s very happy”, declared the defender to Star+.
“The boys who entered also did very well and that for us is very important, because it increases the competition on the campus and makes those of us who are playing improve”, valued one of the most regular players of the U in the season.
‘Mati’ also highlighted the blue performance for passages of the match. “At times we play great football and that is what must be positive,” he said.
