A man was jailed after shooting his ex-partner while they were arguing.
The Public Ministry reported that it is AJ García Urdaneta, who is accused of the frustrated femicide of his ex-partner. Everything happened in the El Limón sector of Aragua state.
Apparently the man arrived at the house they shared and began to argue with the woman. It was there that he reached for a firearm that she had hidden and pointed it at her.
At the time of the shot, his daughter hit him in the arm, so he diverted the direction and prevented him from hitting his mother, according to the official version.
Neighbors of the sector alerted regional police officials from a nearby command, who approached the place to arrest the aggressor and put him at the order of the Public Ministry.
The firearm used by the man was requested.
At the presentation hearing, representatives of the 25th Prosecutor’s Office of that jurisdiction charged García Urdaneta with the alleged commission of the crime of frustrated femicide, aggravated threat, illegal possession of a firearm and use of things from the crime.
Such criminal types are provided for in the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence, the Law for Disarmament and Arms Control, and the Penal Code.
After evaluating the elements of conviction and after the request of the Public Ministry, the 2nd Control Court of Aragua issued the custodial measure for the man, who remains in custody at the El Limón regional police headquarters.
