The La Libertad Avanza candidate was elected president for the period 2023-2027, after obtaining the second round of the elections. 55.69 percent of the votes (14,476,462 votes) against the 44.30 percent obtained by the candidate of Unión por la Patria, Sergio Massa (11,516,142 votes).
In his speech tonight, Massa said that, “starting tomorrow, the responsibility and task of providing certainty and transmitting guarantees about the political, social and economic functioning of Argentina is the responsibility of the president-elect,” and added: “We hope he does so.”
Regarding the role that Massa will have from the Treasury Palace, as well as President Alberto Fernández from the Casa Rosada, the minister and candidate sought to convey to Argentines that “have neither doubts nor uncertainty” regarding the functioning of the country in these weeks of transition towards December 10, when Javier Milei will assume his mandate.
