Head in the stars in Bize-Minervois

The La Bize aux étoiles association recently offered an introduction to astronomy. Volunteers have made state-of-the-art equipment available at the Bize stadium for observation of the moon and the sun during the day. A few budding astronomers came to admire the Earth’s natural satellite located at 384 000 km or the famous star located at… 149 598 870 km just that ! It was possible to bring your own equipment to learn how to use it better. An afternoon that delighted enthusiasts and the curious who came to encounter the immensity.

La Bize aux étoiles is an association of amateur astronomers who meet regularly to observe and photograph the starry sky.

They share their knowledge and experience with pleasure through public observations, including the famous “ night of stars ” which takes place in August each year, but also throughout the year as soon as a planet or a star is visible. Astronomers also offer workshops “ discovery “with outdoor centers or any other structure but also with individuals who request it, something to arouse passions.

On their website it is possible to find out more about the planets to be observed on a specific day such as comet Leonardo seen in December or Jupiter visible on the 29th. August and the 5 September 2021. It is possible to join the association in order to learn or improve your skills in astronomy. Appointment on August 6 for the new night of the stars, lying on a deckchair and watching shooting stars… Don’t forget to make a wish !
