The Khimki court gave 15 days of arrest in an administrative case of hooliganism to the head of the Perm Center for Historical Memory, Alexander Chernyshov, according to the Memorial society (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent and liquidated in 2022) in the Telegram channel. At the trial, the police provided evidence from two passengers from the departure area, who said that at 13:40 a public figure was hooligan in the departure area of Sheremetyevo Airport.
According to their version, he “unaddressed obscene language”, “was in an excited state”, “waving his arms”, “behaved aggressively”, “expressed disrespect for society”, “did not react to comments”, quotes the materials of the case “Memorial” . As a result, at 14:30 Chernyshov was detained for petty hooliganism.
At the trial, the public figure said that until 14:30 he was in the border service department without a way out and under the escort of employees, which means he could not be in the arrivals area. Most of the time he sat and waited. The lawyer of the public activist petitioned for the inclusion in the case of a coupon for the 8:55 flight, from which, at 8:30, the FSB border service took Chernyshov out of the plane. The lawyer believes that Chernyshov had no reason to get off the plane himself and miss his flight, and he could not have ended up in the departure zone at 13:00 on his own. However, the court refused to take into account the arguments of the defense, and also did not study the recordings from the surveillance cameras. The lawyers will appeal against the decision of the court in the Moscow Regional Court.
Early in the morning of May 5, police officers detained Alexander Chernyshov at Sheremetyevo Airport. According to media reports, the detention may be related to an attempt to take the archive of “Memorial” out of Perm.
In March, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism already carried out operational activities in the apartment of Mr. Chernyshov, confiscating documents and information carriers. In parallel, the police held events in the apartments of other employees of the Center for Historical Memory. One of them was later fined 3,000 rubles. for failure to comply with the lawful requirements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
