If the French feel well informed about the causes of cancer, they still minimize the risks related to their behavior. This is the observation made by the National Cancer Institute in partnership with Santé Publique France, in its latest barometer which it has just published. According to the survey, a majority of the population still underestimates the link between tobacco and alcohol. “Only one in five smokers considers that there is a risk of tobacco-related cancer beyond 20 cigarettes a day. And more than one in two French people are convinced that practicing a sport helps cleanse their lungs of tobacco” , it says.
