The minister also called on citizens to visit care centers in various Lebanese regions, to obtain free of charge about 90 medicines that treat chronic diseases.

What is the role of these centers?

The Director of the National Primary Health Care Program at the Ministry of Health in Lebanon, Randa Hamadeh, called on citizens and residents to register in primary health care centers spread all over the Lebanese territory, in order to obtain the medicines and medical services they provide. "The Ministry of Health relies on it to provide basic health services with the support of the European Union, the World Health Organization and UNICEF".

Hamada confirmed to "Sky News Arabia"that "The centers have several roles, starting with examining the patient and diagnosing his condition to giving him the appropriate, as well as providing periodic examinations for children and basic vaccinations for them.".

She added that "These centers, which are currently 262 centers, are concerned with the annual periodic examinations of citizens (sound images and radiographs), and they guarantee high quality services such as family medicine, children, gynecology, obstetrics and dentistry, in addition to examinations and radiographs related to basic care that does not require a referral of the patient to the hospital.".

According to the health official, these centers impose a symbolic tariff ranging between 5 thousand and 18 thousand pounds for the examination, and their services include about 980,000 Lebanese citizens and 36,000 residents, and they provide more than 4 million various services for these.
