The French should soon be offered appointments to avoid or detect health problems. From this year, doctors, pharmacists, midwives and nurses will be encouraged to carry out consultations dedicated to prevention. It remains to be seen whether they will increase these meetings given the time required for their completion and their remuneration.
Announced by Emmanuel Macron during the last presidential campaign, the launch of assessments at different ages of life should mark the executive’s desire to place greater emphasis on prevention. An intention regularly stated at a time of population aging and the development of chronic diseases but which, in general opinion, is struggling to materialize and produce results.
