Christchurch: Australian opener Alyssa Healy continues her explosive form at the Women’s World Cup. Healy (170 off 178 balls) smashed a century (356/5) to give Australia a huge lead in the final against England. Healy had a handful of records in front of him. One is the record for the highest individual score in a Women’s World Cup final. Healy surpassed Australia’s Karen Rowlton’s record of 107 against India in 2005 17 years ago.

Healy also holds the record for most runs scored in a single edition of the Women’s World Cup. Healy scored 509 runs. Rachel Haynes (497) of the Kangaroos was second. Healy scored 509 runs in nine innings, including four fifties and two centuries. Healy is the first batswoman to score more than 500 runs in a single edition of the Women’s World Cup.

Healy was dismissed in the 46th over of the Australian innings. Masmara’s innings was impressive with 26 boundaries. Healy and Haynes added 160 for the first wicket for Australia, who lost the toss and opted to bat. Haynes (68) was dismissed in the 30th over. Beth Mooney (62), Ashley Gardner (1), Meg Lanning (10), Tahila McGrath (8 not out) and Elise Perry (17 not out) were the other Australian batsmen to score.
