“The submissions show global trends in media art,” said Gerfried Stocker, artistic director of Ars Electronica. It should be noted that many media artists are becoming activists trying to “make the world a little bit better” with their art. In addition, the themes of the media artists often revolve around climate change and democracy, which are severely challenged by artificial intelligence. There were a total of 3,176 submissions from 98 countries for the Prix Ars Electronica, which is considered one of the most important media prizes in the world.
