At the end of an undecided match, and after a second period during which the team coached by Léon Waitronyie abused long balls, the Caledonians ended up cracking.

In difficulty on aerial outings at the end of the game, goalkeeper Marie-Pierre Atrewe came close to giving the Fijians a goal in the 84th minute. The ball she couldn’t catch bounced off her legs, before returning to Ema Mereia’s feet. The shot from the opposing striker was deflected in extremis for a corner by Caroline Naaoutchoué. A minute later, on a cross from Laulaba, Atrewe once again released the ball into the studs of Mereia, who managed to score. Fiji reaches the last four.

The Caledonians, after winning their three group matches (1-0 against Samoa, 4-1 against Vanuatu and 6-0 against Tonga) are eliminated.
