Heated Panties for Menstrual Pain Relief: The Innovative Peach Project by University of Liège Students

Peach“, this is the name of an unusual project launched by four students from the University of Liège. Objective? Soothe menstrual pain with heated panties. A project which was rewarded this Thursday during the 12th edition of the competition Startups.

Maria Farcas (22 ans), Clement Vermeylen (21 ans), Lucie Mathews Bilginer (22 years old) and Melissa Kaci (23 years old) won the prestigious Startech competition on Thursday evening, which brings together more than 500 students from engineering schools across Wallonia.

Peach was born as part of a start-up course. The project is led in particular by girls who share painful periods. Their project? A heated menstrual panty that they have been working on since last February. “Basically, the goal was to have menstrual panties with a heating band that goes around the waist and will really heat the lower back and lower abdomen to relieve menstrual pain. This heating strip must be detachable to be able to lava itr”, details Mélissa Kaci, one of the members of the winning group.
