Due to heavy rain in Kozhikode, Kannur and Malappuram districts, landslides are suspected to have occurred in the hilly areas. It is suspected that the boulders broke out in the forest at Nedupoil in Kannur and Vilangat in Kozhikode. The Vilangad bridge was completely submerged after the mountain water rushed in.
The heavy rain that started on Saturday morning is still continuing in Kozhikode hilly region. The authorities have issued a warning in the Vilangad area. Traffic through this area has also been restricted.
