Heavy return traffic through Salzburg and Tyrol

Fatal accident on B164 caused additional disabilities.

On Saturday morning there were significantly more traffic jams in Salzburg and Tyrol than feared. The ÖAMTC announced this to the APA. The situation had partially calmed down by noon, but the B164 was in Salzburg following a fatal accident still blocked with a car and a post bus near Leogang, the automobile club reported. There are extensive traffic jams on the alternative routes, more than an hour towards Lofer, according to drivers.

In addition, it was backed up on the return journey to Germany on the Tauernautobahn (A10) towards Salzburg between Hüttau and Kuchl and on the B311 between Lend and St. Johann im Pongau. There were delays of up to an hour each time.

In Tyrol, the ÖAMTC reported waiting times of up to 45 minutes on the Inntalautobahn (A12) near Kufstein in the direction of Germany. On the B179 between Nassereith and Füssen there were delays of more than an hour and on the Zillertalstraße out of the valley in a northerly direction also up to one and a half hours.
