Heidi Klum (52) celebrated her Halloween party in New York City, an event that has been associated with her name for 25 years, appearing as a giant left hand constructed to allow her legs to fit inside two of the fingers, BILD reported.
The Logistics of a Giant Hand Costume
The idea for the costume came to her some time ago, according to BILD. Klum told the outlet that she thinks about what curious things she could do all year before looking at her own hand and realizing human legs could fit inside two digits while her arms could occupy the others.
The construction was not light as a feather, but Klum noted it could have been worse. To manage the physical constraints of the bulky structure during the event with 300 guests at the Cathedral, Klum admitted to BILD that she wore a diaper to handle bathroom breaks.
Her husband, Tom Kaulitz (36), missed the celebration due to concert commitments with Tokio Hotel, while his twin brother, Bill (36), also could not attend, BILD reported. Klum joked that Bill could have served as her right hand, which was absent from the costume. Despite his absence, she maintained her wedding ring and a matching tattoo on the outfit.
Celebrity Guests and Tributes in New York
Klum’s children—Leni (21), Henry (20), Johan (18), and Lou (17)—joined the celebration, with Lou expressing pride in her mother’s execution of the concept, BILD reported. Other notable attendees included top model Karen Mulder (56), who wore Karl Lagerfeld’s actual clothing and original sunglasses to portray the late designer, who died in 2019 at age 85. Mulder’s manager attended as Anna Wintour (76) alongside a replica of Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette.
Gina-Lisa Lohfink (40) attended Klum’s party for the first time, dressed as a bloodied nurse accompanied by her doctor, BILD reported. Additional guests included US rock musician Taylor Momsen (33), former GNTM contestants Kim Hnizdo (30) and Rebecca Mir (34), and Mir’s husband, Massimo Sinató (45). Refreshments included red wine served through straws out of medical blood transfusion bags.
