Henry “La Mosca” Caicedo, historic player of Deportivo Cali, died

He was recognized in the 70’s for being one of the best players in South America. Henry Caicedo González, better known as La Mosca will be remembered for one of the greatest glories in the history of Deportivo Cali and Colombia.

“La Mosca” Caicedo was part of Deportivo Cali since 1974, and gave the team its fifth star, –known at that time as the “Green Threat”–. He was the leader of the team’s defensive zone, with which he became part of two local runners-up, a Copa Libertadores semifinal and the Copa Libertadores runner-up in 1978, after losing to Boca Juniors.

Back then, Deportivo Cali became the first Colombian team to reach the final of the most important club tournament on the continent.

He was nicknamed “The Fly” for his strength and agility.
