Here are the proposals of the PS to drastically reduce your energy bills and the price of fuel

The Federal Minister for the Economy, Pierre-Yves Dermagne (PS), was the political guest this morning on Bel RTL. He answered Fabrice Grosfilley’s questions.

This tariff, advocated by the PS, would concern Belgians who receive less than 3,500 euros gross per month and would be equivalent to half of the extended social tariff, i.e. a reduction of 20% on electricity and 35 to 40% on gas. .

“We want to create an average rate for the lower middle class. People who earn less than 3,500 euros gross per month. This is the median salary and therefore we want to ensure that they have an advantage and that their bills electricity and gas are reduced. The proposal is to do half of what exists for the extended social tariff, i.e. 20% on electricity and 35% on gas.3,500 euros is the median salary in Belgium, this represents 30% of households in the country.”

And what about fuel prices?

Another topic discussed during this interview was the price of fuel. The Federal Minister of Economics advocates a reduction of 29 euro cents for a liter of petrol and 32 cents for a liter of diesel. He hopes for a decision for tonight. “We have to go as quickly as possible. I think that on April 1, it remains feasible. With the Minister of Finance in the government we can go quickly. (…) The proposal is to lower the level of “Excise duties at the European minimum and therefore we are talking more about 29 cents for a liter of petrol and 32 cents for diesel. I will do everything so that we can decide this evening.”
