The average number of coronavirus infections rose to 8,260 per day between October 31 and November 6 (compared to an average of 9,487 according to Monday’s figures). This represents a decrease of 46% from the previous seven day period. The number of contaminations in Belgium amounted to 503,182 on Tuesday, against 500,789 on Monday, since the start of the epidemic.
The number of hospital admissions due to Covid-19 continues to decline, by -14%, and now stands at 574 per day on average, between October 31 and November 6. The number of people hospitalized rose to 7,217 (+ 4%), including 1,474 patients treated in intensive care.
Covid-19 has also caused the death of 13,055 people in Belgium. On average, 179 people died each day from coronavirus infection, up 39% from the previous week.
