If you are positive for Covid-19 on April 10 and 24, during the presidential election, you can go vote. Government spokesman Gabriel Attal confirmed this on Wednesday after the Council of Ministers.
“Voting is a constitutional righthe justifies during the press briefing. We recommend that they wear a mask for this, it is a call for individual responsibility”, while adding: “There can be no impediment to taking part in the elections”.
No gauge or mandatory mask, the health protocol unveiled
The Ministry of the Interior has published on its website this Wednesday evening the health protocol selected to vote in the presidential election on April 10 and 24.
Note that no proof of vaccination will be required, just like no “certificate of recovery or completion of a virological test” indicates the ministry. There won’t be no gauge in polling stations, “however, access to the polling station can be regulated and entry and exit must be separated to avoid situations of great promiscuity”.
The elderly, frail, contact cases or positive for Covid-19 are “strongly” encouraged to wear the mask. Surgical masks will be made available to voters and organizersand self-tests will also be available for people involved in the organization or conduct of the poll.
On the other hand, a washing point hands or hydro-alcoholic gel will be made available in two separate places to avoid the crossing of people. The ministry specifies that these measures are likely to evolve according to the health situation.
