Herman Van Holsbeeck released!

The former manager of the Brussels club had been remanded in custody on January 19, by the Brussels investigating judge Michel Claise, as part of the investigation around the player agent Christophe Henrotay. On Monday, his lawyers had asked for his release before the House of Impeachment.

“It’s a huge relief for Herman Van Holsbeeck, the last few weeks have been terrible for him. When, at the age of 67, you find yourself detained, it’s a shock that’s hard to control. We were able to argue very long. We saw that the betting house was very attentive. I would not have dared such a prognosis but the satisfaction is great for Master Wilmotte and myself to see the joy he will have,” says the tenor Daniel Spreutels, who has just heard the news.

Van Holsbeeck is expected to leave the Saint-Gilles prison on Wednesday evening.
