A little dog was saved from a prowling coyote when his friend, a 10-pound Maltese, used all his wolfish instincts to chase the predator out of the garden.
It all happened in a flash, in just 10 seconds, as Erin Macaluso of California shared on her Facebook page last month.

A coyote thus slipped between the bars of the fence.
The two dogs heard suspicious noises in the yard and then came out to conduct their inspection.
First on the scene was Harley, a 12-pound Morkie. Immediately, he is attacked by a coyote much larger than him.
The video can hear Harley screaming in fear as the coyote is on him.
Despite his 11 years and three teeth, Vinny immediately storms out of the house to help Harley.
The coyote gets scared, and is chased out of the garden by Vinny.
Harley suffered serious injuries but will make a full recovery, vets say.
