Faced with the horror of the scene, customers of a Texas gas station rescued a baby trapped in a car in the middle of a heat wave on Wednesday.

The dramatic scene was captured by a citizen and posted on the TikTok social network.
According to information from the Harlingen police, the toddler’s parents accidentally locked him inside the SUV, reports the San Antonio Express News.
In addition to calling for help, the father of the child hastened to have sharp objects at his disposal to smash the window of the Buick brand vehicle.
After a few seconds, using a tire iron, the American managed to smash the front windshield.
The baby was taken out of the vehicle, where he was given first aid to check his condition.
The temperature at the time was 40 degrees Celsius, as the southern United States has been experiencing extreme temperatures since early July.
A spokesperson for the local police force told KRGV that the parents will not face any criminal charges.
At these stifling temperatures, it takes no less than ten minutes for the mercury to rise ten degrees Celsius inside a vehicle that is not running.
