In a statement today, Raif Reda, head of the Lebanese Medical and Social Society, called for “not to underestimate the Omicron mutator, the invisible and rapidly spreading newly known as BA2, so that hospital beds and intensive care units are not filled with it, especially in these economic conditions.”

He called on the Ministry of Health to “make vaccines available directly in all health centers without a platform, to prevent the worst, lest we fall into a health disaster with ominous consequences, especially since the rate of community immunity did not exceed 40% after countries exceeded 70% of it.”
