Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Lebanese army said that a Lebanese soldier was killed and three others were wounded in an Israeli bombing, on Tuesday.
A brief statement by the Lebanese Army on social media stated, “A military center for the Army in the Nabi Aweida-Al-Adissa area was bombed by the Israeli enemy, which led to the martyrdom of a soldier and the injury of 3 others, who were transferred to a hospital for treatment.”
Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging frequent fire across the border for two months, using missiles, artillery, drones and air strikes.
The Lebanese National News Agency said that the bombing that led to the soldier’s death occurred in eastern Lebanon, near the border with Israel.
The agency indicated that Israeli forces bombed areas in southern Lebanon earlier Tuesday
A CNN team in the Marjayoun area of southern Lebanon reported that it heard loud explosions in the morning, and filmed a suspected Israeli drone over the area.
The National News Agency also reported a drone strike in the south-central sector near the Lebanese-Israeli border, targeting the southeastern, central, and western regions of the border.
The Israeli army said on Tuesday morning that its fighter jets bombed Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, including military infrastructure and weapons storage sites.
The Israeli army also added that it identified several missile launches from Lebanon towards Israel, which landed in open areas.
Hezbollah said it targeted Israeli army forces near the border with Lebanon in various locations.
