According to the person consulted, the aforementioned projectile hit an Israeli position on the other side of the border from the Lebanese villages of Ayta al-Shaab and Rmeich, without specifying further details regarding the episode.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out massive aerial fire, with tanks and artillery once morest “terrorist infrastructure sites”, missile depots and military installations of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, according to the military institution.

Security sources and witnesses in the Arab country told the news agency that it was one of the “most intense” Israeli attacks so far.

On Friday, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah warned in his first speech following the start of the Gaza conflict that Tel Aviv will commit “the greatest stupidity in its history” if it attacks Lebanon.

He also thanked the Iraqi and Yemeni forces who took action to defend Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, he indicated that the conflict showed “Israel’s weakness,” highlighting that the US “rushed” to help the country.
