Actor Hideaki Ito (48) updated his Instagram on the 2nd. He mentioned the movie “Umizaru” in which he starred.

Four movies have been made about “Umizaru” starring Ito, and the Fuji TV drama version was also a huge hit. On the other hand, manga artist Hidemine Sato posted a sentence on his note on the 2nd titled, “I hated it to death.” In response to the sudden death of manga artist Hinako Ashihara, the original author of the Japanese TV drama “Sexy Tanaka-san,” which aired last year, he revealed the troubles he experienced when adapting “Umizaru.”

In 2012, Mr. Sato announced on his SNS that he was cutting ties with Fuji Television. Due to the fact that a staff member of the bureau visited Mr. Sato’s office for an “unappointed interview” and that a book about “Umizaru” was being sold without a contract, the company decided not to allow a sequel in the future.

In the post, Ito said, “I read the article. “Umizaru” is a lifelong treasure for me.I’m still thankful for the people who call out to me and send me letters saying they loved “Umizaru.” A lot of people have sent me messages on Instagram,” he said, and posted an image of the original painting given to him by Mr. Sato.

On the original picture is a handwritten message from Mr. Sato that says, “Dear Hideaki Ito: The drama was interesting. I have high hopes for the cool Daisuke.”

“I still cherish the original drawings that Mr. Sato gave me when he visited the site about 20 years ago.The time spent with everyone involved in the filming and the work are my treasures.”
