New Delhi: The Congress High Command has nominated a candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat. Srinivasan Krishnan, a close confidante of Priyanka Gandhi, was nominated by the High Command to the KPCC. But the KPCC is raising the need to consider M.Liju.
Senior leaders, including KV Thomas, and party leaders like CP John continue to put pressure on Rajya Sabha seats. The High Command unexpectedly suggested the name while the names of young leaders, including Liju, were being actively discussed. The High Command has directed that the name of Srinivasan be included in the list of leaders being considered by the KPCC.
Srinivasan Krishnan, who has close ties with AICC leaders, had earlier worked for the Indian Information Service. Later he worked with K. Karunakaran as an officer on special duty for ten years. It was then that he came to the central leadership. He is currently the Acting AICC General Secretary for Telangana. ⁇
