High-Level State Delegation Visit to Indonesia: Strengthening UAE-Indonesia Relations and Cooperation Across Various Sectors

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, received at the Presidential Palace in Yogyakarta, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and the UAE Envoy to the Republic of Indonesia, Suhail Al Mazrouei, during an official visit of the high-level state delegation to Indonesia, headed by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.

During the meeting, Suhail Al Mazrouei conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al. Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, wishing the leadership of the Republic of Indonesia and its friendly people further progress and progress.

The meeting discussed ways and mechanisms to enhance joint cooperation in various fields, as President Joko Widodo expressed his happiness with Al Mazrouei’s visit, stressing his country’s interest in developing its strategic relations with the UAE in all fields that serve both sides.

During the visit, Suhail Al Mazrouei and the accompanying delegation held several meetings to enhance cooperation opportunities between the two countries to raise the level of relations to broader horizons, which reflected the aspirations of the leadership of the two friendly countries.

In the capital, Jakarta, Al Mazrouei held bilateral meetings with Luhut Binsar, Minister of Coordination of Maritime Affairs and Investment, Eric Tahir, Minister of State-Owned Enterprise Affairs, Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Budi Karia, Minister of Transport, Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, and Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Social Affairs. Investment, and Pahala Nugraha, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During these meetings, developments in joint investment projects and initiatives were discussed, and more opportunities available in sectors of common interest were studied.

Al Mazrouei also chaired the Emirati-Indonesian round table meeting, organized by the UAE Embassy in Jakarta, with the participation of a number of CEOs and private sector representatives from the two countries.

At the conclusion of the visit, Al Mazrouei met with Marouf Amin, Vice President, to discuss ways to develop relations between the two countries and strengthen the economy in the field of halal industrial products.

During that visit, President Joko Widodo and Suhail Al Mazrouei witnessed the foundation stone laying ceremony for the building of the Mohammed bin Zayed College for Future Studies project, at Nahdlatul Ulama University in Yogyakarta, in the presence of Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, and Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, Director of the University. Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, and Yahya Khalil Stakov, Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Organization, which will be implemented in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities and the Nahdlatul Ulama Organization.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Mohammed bin Zayed University and the Nahdlatul Ulama Organization to construct the building of the Mohammed bin Zayed College for Future Studies.
