The Jeju Provincial Health and Environment Research Institute announced that a patient who visited a medical institution with symptoms such as rash and fever after traveling to Southeast Asia was confirmed yesterday for ‘dengue fever’.
The Jeju Provincial Health and Environment Research Institute asked people to be careful when visiting overseas, saying that there is no preventive vaccine or treatment for dengue fever, and the mortality rate is as high as 20%.
Meanwhile, the number of dengue fever patients in Korea this year is 83, nearly four times higher than the same period last year, and all of them have a history of visiting risky countries.
