A high-speed train linking Orlando and Miami collided head-on with an automobile, causing the death of two people who were in the vehicle.

The incident happened in Melbourne, Florida on Friday, CNN reports.

The train apparently hit the car in question as it crossed the railway tracks, dragging it nearly 100 meters.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to this incident given that another collision occurred two days earlier at the same location, causing the death of one person and injuring three others.

Bright-Line trains like the one involved in this incident can travel at speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour, but slow down in more densely populated areas.
