Temperatures will gradually increase in the coming days throughout the national territory starting this Wednesday, March 13, announced the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh) in an information capsule.
The meteorological center detailed that the alert for the increase in temperatures has been in force since this Wednesday, March 13 until at least next Sunday, March 17.
The increase in temperatures and heat conditions, according to meteorological models, is due to the decrease in the wind coming from the north and little cloudiness in most of the country. Warm conditions will remain as no effects of any high pressure system or cold front are expected.
The bulletin specifies that the highest temperatures could occur in the regions of the nortein Eastin it altiplano central and the Caribbean areain Izabal; as well as the mouthcosta in it Peaceful.
High temperatures are also expected in local areas of West and the northern transverse strip.

According to the forecast, maximum temperatures are expected to vary between 26 and 40 degrees. In the capital, maximum temperatures of between 28 and 31 degrees are expected.
In the north, specifically in Petén, temperatures could range between 36 and 38 degrees. Likewise, in the southern coastal region a range of 37 to 39 degrees is expected, while in the east the maximum temperatures could be between 38 and 40 degrees.
This increase in temperatures has been observed since Tuesday, March 12. In Jutiapa, the Insivumeh station recorded a temperature of 37.2 degrees, followed by Tecún Umán, San Marcos, with 37 degrees.
In Retalhuleu, San Marcos and El Progreso, 36 degrees were also reached, according to the report of maximum daily temperatures.
Other regions that have reached significant values are the south coast between 35 to 37 degrees, Izabal with 30.4 degrees and Huehuetenango with 29.2 degrees Celsius.
