An exceptional public auction was held at Drouot last Thursday. Thirty-nine lots, including a desk in Boulle marquetry, a Régence mirror, a clock with complication and music or even a large silverware in tortoiseshell were on offer. The common point of these valuable objects: all belong to the Bernard Tapie collection, part of which was already put up for sale last summer, during an operation that caused a stir.
With these two auctions, 2.7 million euros will have been collected by the Consortium de realization (CDR), this entity owned 100% by the State and which is fighting on all fronts to try to recover, year following year, the 404 million euros of public money unduly paid to Bernard Tapie following a 2008 decision.
