The publicist Norbert Blaichinger (65) has written a book about the history of the farmers on the Irrsee and about the stories of individual farmers. In addition to a journey through time from the first farms in the 15th century to the present day, the author has talked to old farmers, from which a colorful mix of stories has emerged.
Norbert Blaichinger grew up in Zell am Moos, which was “a real farming village” during his childhood. “That was home for me.” In addition, his father descended from a farmer in Abtsdorf, so that agriculture was an issue in his parents’ home.
These “stories from life and for life” arouse great interest. 150 copies were sold as soon as the book came out, and the second edition is already in print.
The 134-page book is available for 22 euros from the tobacconist Sylvia Lettner and postal partner Angelika Eppel in Zell, from the tobacconist Schwaighofer in Mondsee, soon also in the office of the Bauernland nature park, at the municipal office in Oberhofen and in bookstores.
