Domantas Sabonis hasn’t missed a single game this season. And he doesn’t want to start now.
Victim of an injury to the thumb of his left hand, more precisely at the level of the ulnar collateral ligament according to insider Marc Stein, the Kings’ Lithuanian interior plans to continue playing, even though he is officially listed as a doubt for Sacramento’s next game against Denver on Tuesday.
The Kings say Domantas Sabonis has sustained an avulsion fracture of the ulnar collateral ligament (right thumb) but will try to play through the injury on his non-shooting hand.
Sabonis is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game against Denver.

The fact that it is the thumb of his weak hand that is affected may indeed allow Sabonis to avoid the infirmary, but this does not mean that this injury is trivial. We cannot rule out a scenario in which Domas has to be absent in the future to fix this glitch.
Given the current level of Sabonis, who plays like an All-Star since early December – 20 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists average – to help the Kings stay in the Top 6 in the West (record of 17 wins – 14 losses), this bobo does not fall very well in any case, especially when we see the Sacramento program in the days to come: Denver , Denver, Utah, Memphis, Utah. Clearly we have known easier as a calendar. And if the 26-year-old interior is actually diminished on the floors, Mike Brown’s group could leave feathers there…
