HIV: first elderly patient cured by stem cell transplant

A first in medical history. A 66-year-old man is cured of HIV thanks to a stem cell transplant, the American institute has announced City of Hope.

The patient had been living with the AIDS virus for 33 years and was also suffering from leukemia, said the Californian institute.
