(PLO)- Two young men robbing people’s property on the street with cheeky tricks have just been arrested by the Criminal Police Department, the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
On January 24, Ho Chi Minh City Police prosecuted and detained Le Hoang Minh (33 years old living in Binh Tan district) and Cau Trong Duy (25 years old, living in District 3) to investigate the crime of robbery.
Previously, the police received information about 5 cases of property robbery caused by two young men. The tricks of the subjects are very bold and aggressive, targeting passersby with loopholes.
Both of these men were armed with pepper spray, ready to attack people when discovered.

The Criminal Police Department (PC02), the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department cooperated with the District 8 Police Department to establish a special case. Many scouts of Team 3 were mobilized to apply synchronous professional measures to fight for destruction.
Minh and Duy were quickly zoned by the police and invited to work. On January 8, both were arrested.
At the investigative agency, Duy and Minh admitted to carrying out 5 robberies in the area of District 8, Ho Chi Minh City.
Specifically, at noon on June 22, 2022, Duy invited him to rob. Minh then rode a Honda Wave 59F1-358.19 motorcycle and Duy rode a gray and white Honda Wave (no license plate) around the streets of District 8.
When they arrived in front of the Topaz City apartment building (39 Cao Lo, Ward 4, District 8) both of them discovered that Mr. LQT (26 years old, living in District 1) was sitting on a motorbike using an iPhone, so they coordinated to commit the crime.
At this time, Duy stood from afar, Minh drove from behind, approached to snatch the iPhone and then increased the gas and ran away.
However, Mr. T promptly chased after him. When he arrived at number 29 Vo Liem Son (Ward 4, District 8) Minh fell and was standing up his car when Mr. T drove the vehicle to hit him, causing both of them to fall onto the road. The phone was also dropped on the spot.
The robber tried to pull out a pepper spray to attack Mr. T, but the victim rushed to beat him, causing Minh to fall.
Minh took the pepper spray to attack Mr. T and then got into Duy’s car and fled, leaving the scene of the phone, evidence, and motorbike.
In addition, these two young men also confessed to committing 4 more robbery cases in District 8.

As on September 27, 2022, Duy invited Minh to find other people’s property to rob. Minh rides a motorbike 59G1-258.32, Duy drives a Honda Wave (no license plate) to go around on roads looking for loopholes to rob.
At about 2:40 p.m., Minh and Duy went to 305 Lien Tinh 5 (Ward 5, District 8) and discovered Mrs. N (69 years old, living in District 8) standing and opening the trunk of a car parked on the side of the road. To get things, he wears a gold chain around his neck.
Duy immediately signaled for Minh to close and pull the chain, while Duy stood nearby to watch.
Minh controlled the car close, pulled the chain on Mrs. N’s neck and then increased the throttle to run. However, the chain is hard, Minh pulls hard, but the rope does not break, the car also slows down.
At this time, Mr. DLTQ (42 years old, the child of Mrs. N) standing nearby noticed, rushed to grab the rear of the car, so Minh panicked and increased the gas and fell on the spot.
Afraid of being caught, Minh abandoned his car at the scene and fled to Ta Quang Buu Street. Behind, people shouted and chased, but Minh after about 100 meters was able to run into Duy’s car to escape.
The investigating police agency is currently expanding to clarify the behavior of other subjects consuming counterfeit goods to handle.

On January 18, the police of Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City made a file and took statements from Huynh Vinh Ky (17 years old, living in Binh Tan district), Nguyen Quang Huy (19 years old), Truong Ngoc Quan (17 years old), living in Binh Chanh district), Nguyen Nhut Tr (16 years old, living in Binh Tan district) and Dao Gia Khanh (18 years old, living in Binh Tan district) to investigate the act of robbery.

This group claimed to have carried out 7 cases of robbery, including 1 case in Tan Phu district and 6 cases in Binh Tan district from January 6 to 13.
Like noon on January 8, the group sat drinking coffee on Le Van Quoi Street (Binh Tri Dong A ward, Binh Tan district) and then invited each other to rob.
The members assigned, Ky carried Huy, Huy would be the one to snatch the property, Tr and Khanh followed behind the obstacle.
After that, Ky drove a red Honda SH Mode motorcycle 62B1-547.14 carrying Huy; Tr drove a Wave 51R1-7930 car carrying Khanh around many areas in Tan Phu looking for “prey”.
When they were walking on Phu Tho Hoa Street towards Binh Long Street, Ky and Huy discovered a man walking with a used Samsung Galaxy S22 phone in his hand.
Ky took Huy around and the man went into the alley. Ky told the group of friends “to go to the top of the road and wait, watch out, when you catch it, you will escape together”.
Then, Tr drove Khanh to position 487 Phu Tho Hoa to stand guard; Ky carried Huy to follow “prey”.
When the victim went to the address 126/5 Le Thiet, Ky drove the car close so that Huy sat behind to grab the phone. The group then escaped, selling phones for 5 million to share.
During this time, Ho Chi Minh City Police are deploying the peak of attack and suppression of crimes before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2023.
