Immersed in a new scandal, Hockey Canada will no doubt have an interest in sitting down with former hockey player Jordin Tootoo who, obviously, witnessed certain actions taken in Halifax during the 2003 World Junior Hockey Championship.

About an alleged gang rape, Tootoo however already let it be known on Saturday that he was not aware.
Quebecer Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau, who assured not to be involved, for his part said he was ready to cooperate in the investigation, just as Carlo Colaiacovo had done previously. The case of Tootoo remains very intriguing.
“I was shocked by what I heard in the media and I will cooperate fully with any investigation,” said the latter, via social networks.
However, a passage available in a book published by Tootoo resurfaced on Friday, when the sports organization, which was already dealing with a thorny file concerning an alleged group sexual assault in 2018, admitted having been informed that a another similar incident reportedly occurred in 2003.
“We were just kids back then. The things we did… We were sexually turned on young men, the book says. We were in Halifax and every girl there was eyeing us. What are you doing in that time? Let’s enjoy it! [Let’s start slaying these broads]. And it wasn’t just one person acting on another. A few of the guys were bringing girls home from practice and going to one of the bedrooms. Remember that Tootoo, who was then part of the Canadian junior team like Parenteau and Colaiacovo, played a total of 723 regular season games in the National Hockey League. He is also recognized for his involvement in Aboriginal communities.
“My book deals with several experiences of this tournament when I was 19 and also my addiction to alcohol, which started when I was 14. To be totally honest with myself and with you, I do not remember having known or heard anything about the incident in question during or after the tournament, reacted Tootoo, Saturday.
The striker played for a long time with the Nashville Predators, from 2003 to 2012, before completing his career playing for the Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils and Chicago Blackhawks.
