TASS, March 22. Yaroslavl Lokomotiv beat Omsk Avangard with a score of 3:1 in the fourth match of the quarterfinal playoff series of the Fonbet – Continental Hockey League (KHL). The meeting took place in Yaroslavl in the presence of 7,815 spectators.

Among the winners, goals were scored by Georgy Ivanov (5th minute), Ivan Chekhovich (42) and Nikita Kiryanov (55). Mikhail Gulyaev (54) scored against the losers.

The score in the series up to four wins became 3-1 in favor of Lokomotiv. The fifth match of the confrontation will take place on March 24 in Omsk. After the second match of the series (7:0 in favor of Lokomotiv), Mikhail Kravets left the post of head coach of Avangard. Sergei Zvyagin became the acting head coach, under whose leadership the team won the third match of the series (2:1 in overtime).

For the first time in KHL history, the second stage of the playoffs uses a crossover system, in which teams from the Western and Eastern conferences play each other. Avangard took second place in the Eastern Conference in the regular season, Lokomotiv became third in the West.
