Cape Town ∙ The Indian women’s hockey team, which celebrated the return of former heroine Rani Rampal, defeated South Africa 5-1 in the first Test match. Rani started the scoring in the 12th minute. Monika(20′), Navneet Kaur(24′), Gurjit Kaur(25′) and Sangeet Kumari(30′) completed India’s list. India was leading 5-0 at the interval. Captain Quanita Bobbs scored a goal in the 44th minute.
