Hofburg election: Haider’s political heirs are back in Carinthia – Carinthia

Carinthia is different. Also this time. Contrary to the other federal states, Alexander Van der Bellen would have had to face a runoff in the southern federal state. The incumbent Federal President only achieved 46.8 percent there. In a second ballot, he would have had to compete against the runner-up, the liberal Ombudsman Walter Rosenkranz (23.9 percent).
