Holcim’s $30 Billion North American Operations Spin-Off: What You Need to Know

(Reuters) – Swiss building materials giant Holcim is set to spin off its North American operations in a deal likely to exceed $30 billion (27.6 billion euros), reports Saturday the Wall Street Journal.

The operation might be announced in the coming week if it does not fail at the last minute, adds the daily, citing sources close to the matter.

Holcim, which owns French cement maker Lafarge, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Swiss group is established in 43 states in the United States and employs 7,000 people there, according to its website.

It said last July that North America was on track to account for regarding 40% of its revenue, at regarding $12 billion.
